Meet Our Crew

Our crew is a dedicated group of students from in and around Boston who work from April to September. A Swan Boat driver must be tall and strong enough to operate the boat, and enjoy interacting with the public.

Each spring, the Swan Boats are moved in pieces to the Public Garden. Over the course of several days, they are assembled and prepared for their launching on opening day.

The Swan Boat crew begins each day early in the morning prepping the Swan Boats for the day ahead. Each boat is cleaned, mopped and swept while the ornamental brass is polished to a beautiful shine.
We are open every day – weather permitting – and enjoy the many celebrations over the course of the season.
Fourth of July is a big day in Boston with all kinds of festivities for visitors.
In addition to our Swan Boat drivers, we have our ticket sellers and those who manage our souvenir stand.

The maintenance of our boats keeps us busy and we do whatever it takes to keep our passengers safe and our ride enjoyable.

Over the years, the crew has found many ways to entertain themselves during the warm summer months in Boston.

From the very beginning, we have been a family business and some of our young family members are already in early training.

Most of all, our crew is a tight knit group of wonderful young men and women who bring their best to work every day.
They make the Swan Boats come to life with their hard work and dedication.
The Crew works hard each day to preserve a tradition that our passengers have enjoyed for over 130 years.
